Evidence-based Dyad Work
ReConnect!
“Reconnect with yourself, others, and humanity!”
The ReConnect! courses make the dyad-based mental training programmes developed by Prof. Dr. Tania Singer accessible to the wider public. The name ReConnect! captures the central aim of these courses: to reconnect more deeply with ourselves, with others, and with humanity as a whole.
Following live events that introduce the dyadic practice from both a scientific and practical perspective, participants engage in the so-called dyad practice over an eight-week period. Two people take part in structured partner exercises lasting approximately 15 minutes, in which they each explore specific questions aloud while the other listens in a particular way, without interrupting.
The dyads are practised daily, with partners changing each week. Trained dyad instructors deepen the practice through eight 90-minute online coaching sessions.
Depending on the intensity, topic and target group, ReConnect! offers a range of dyad-based course formats: ReConnect! Masterclasses, ReConnect! Journeys, ReConnect! online courses for companies and individuals, Train-the-Trainer programmes, and a ReConnect! Community where participants can continue practising together for years after completing a course.

The Scientific Evidence Behind the Dyadic Work
All six Re-Connects! formats are based on more than three decades of research by Tania Singer and her team in the fields of social neuroscience, cognitive training, and the trainability of social and emotional skills. Daily dyad practice with weekly changing partners was originally developed in the ReSource project and scientifically tested in the three-month Affect and Perspective modules—hence the terms Affect Dyad and Perspective Dyad.
In the CovSocial project, a standalone, low-threshold, 10-week online dyad training program was first compared directly with traditional mindfulness training. The training, based on the Affect Dyad program, consisted of daily 13-minute exercises and 8 weekly 120 minutes online coachings. Edu:Social School and Healthcare are now expanding this research approach with an adapted 8-week empathy-compassion intervention protocol into schools and health care settings.
The results of this research are documented in a number of scientific publications and are listed below with the corresponding references.
